The advantages of having your own sawmill
1. Selection and supply
We go on site in the forest ourselves. Each log is assessed and priced. After selection, we organize transport with established partners.
2. Length grading & sorting.
The logs are cut to suitable lengths with our crane and then sorted and stored. This ensures efficiency in the further process.
3. Sawing rough timber
Sawing logs into brute boards in desired thicknesses (according to stock requirements) with our tree sawing machine. Self-produced drying slats ensure optimum packaging.
4. Storage and drying
Our sawn lumber first undergoes natural drying (6-12 months), followed by controlled artificial drying to a stable moisture content.
5. Post-processing and integration
The dried packs return to our workshop. Each board is sawn straight again and divided into steps or stringers. Next, planing starts and Stairs Demunster takes over.
